Two people can look at the same thing and see it entirely differently. PROJMLA is how I see things differently.

Cameo at Alchemy Website

July 3rd, 2008 by Rick

I was researching on some information for the article I’m writing for Air Macau about the party places in Manila and I found this on Alchemy

See the rabbit?
The guy with the small head on her left–that’s me! LOL

I'm in the Alchemy website! lol

The photo was taken on Halloween 2007, Alchemy’s biggest and most extravagant party of year. Thanks to Skeeter aka Juliana Palermo look-alike (the rabbit) for accommodating us.

On her right, the REAL Juliana Palermo (Catwoman). Kumusta naman.

Man, was I glad to be there :)

Travel Cafe, Greenbelt 5

June 24th, 2008 by Rick

I’d like to take a break from the Australia series and go back to posting photos of Manila for now. Besides, the site is named Project “Manila”. LOL

Dinner at Travel Cafe Philippines in Greenbelt 5 with Manuel (Columbian) and my good friend Cary whom I haven’t seen in years! (Photos taken last March) Food wasn’t as sumptuous as I expected. Despite the overpriced food, dining inside the cafe was a treat.

Discovering Funky Melbourne

June 19th, 2008 by Rick

I don’t enjoy riding planes. The one hour flight from Adelaide to Avalon via Jetstar was excruciating because my ear was popping the whole time. Painful, I tell you! Soon as we landed, we took a bus from Avalon to Melbourne which also took about an hour. It was great to be seated on the bus’ deck. Seeing Melbourne City from afar was amazing as the city lights were very bright and the skyline just blew me away. The vibe was way different from Adelaide.

It kind of felt like being in New York with the mix of old and new structures. Still it didn’t seem as busy even though trams were constantly on the move. It’s still “chillax” mode here. People were walking on a slow pace amidst the cold season. People eat healthy food. Shops and restaurants close early.

Another thing worth noting is that almost half of the people I’ve seen are ASIANS! I think it’s gonna be difficult to get homesick here. For travelers on tight budget, you can always look for Chinese restaurants because servings are huge and very affordable. (Just look at our photo below)

Discovering the Charms of Adelaide

June 1st, 2008 by Rick

I know my blog’s supposed to be about Manila but I wanna share the photos I took from my recent trip to Australia. It’s a very special one because I visited very close friends and it was my first time to be down under.

Aside from Kangaroos and Koalas, Australia’s known for its laid back environment. It’s always “chillax” mode even in the business districts. People walk slowly, eat healthy and breathe fresh air, and I find that particularly charming. They’re also family-oriented which is why establishments in Adelaide close as early as 5pm. (Can you believe that?) What’s the point of drinking coffee at Starbucks when they’re closing that early, right?

Anyhoo, let me share photos of my first few days in Adelaide. Enjoy =)
